Kota Srinivasa Rao surprised but honoured at Padma Shri

Hyderabad, Jan 26: Popular Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao who has close 650 feature films to his credit, was conferred the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema. Having worked across four languages, the multiple Nandi award recipient, said he had never expected to win a civilian award and that he was honoured for his work being recognised nationally.

Having begun his career in 1978 with the Telugu Pranam Khareedu, Rao has since been an oft seen face in Telugu films. He has also worked in Tamil, Hindi and Malyalam. He has assayed many roles and has been a crowd favourite as a villain and a side actor.

Having heard of the wonderful news, the actors current working crew on the film 'S/o Satya Murthy" celebrated his reception of India's fourth highest civilian award. They got him a cake and draped him in a shawl. The other actors present for the celebrations were Bunny, Upendra, Trivikram, Rajendra Prasad and Sneha. They did so just before starting the shoot for the day.
