Karkala, Jan 27: In an accident which had occurred at Salmara in the town on Sunday January 25, a pedestrian suffered grievous injuries. He however, died later in the hospital.
The victim has been identified as Madhava Shenoy (87), a local. Shenoy was crossing the road near Joginakere in Salmara on Sunday night, when a bus moving towards the town from the direction of Bandimath had hit him.
The pedestrian had suffered grave injuries to his head. He had been provided initial treatment in a local private hospital, before being shifted to Manipal for advanced treatment.
Shenoy did not respond to treatments and breathed his last on Monday morning.
