Bengaluru: Ramakrishna Hegde's son, Bharat Hegde, passes away

Bengaluru, Feb 13: Bharat Hegde (62), son of former Karnataka chief minister, Ramakrishna Hegde, breathed his last on Thursday February 12 in a private hospital here. He was suffering from chronic stomach cancer. His family members said that he was admitted into the hospital as his condition worsened recently.

Bharat, who had joined BJP after his father passed away, was away from active politics since long.

Minister, R V Deshpande, said that he knew Bharat from close quarters and appreciated him for never trying to use his father's name for furthering his cause. In addition to Deshpande, state chief minister, Siddaramiah, and many others visited the family and condoled.
