Udupi, Feb 18: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has honoured Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, with the Elite Club Diamond Club award.
Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) has sold 11.32 lac 'Jeevan Madhura' micro policies of LIC. This is not only the highest ever sale registered in Karnataka but also in the country.
LIC executive director from its head office in Mumbai, Satya Kumar, handed over the award and cash prize to Dr Heggade recently.
Noting that 95 percent of the above policies are still in operation, SatyaKumar hailed SKDRDP for giving a boost to LIC's initiatives.
Senior divisional manager, LIC, Udupi, Y Vishwanath Gowda, senior branch manager, K N Shashidhar, SKDRDP executive director, Dr Manjunath, and others were present.
