Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (SP)

Moodbidri, Feb 20: A complaint stands filed in the local police station relating to the abduction of a female student of pre university class from near Krishnakatte here. The kidnapped girl is the daughter of Ganesh Devadiga from here, who presently resides at Bengaluru.

The accused has been named as Dore from Bengaluru. Taking umbrage at the fact that their daughter was coming closer to Dore at Bengaluru, the family had sent her about 20 days back to stay with their relatives living in Prantya village near here.

On Wednesday evening, the girl had come to the town with her relatives. After paying obeisance at the temple here, she had gone to a beauty parlour. It is gathered that the girl boarded a Maruti Omni van waiting by the roadside there and went away. When the relative accompanying the girl expressed the shock and dismay at this sudden development, those at the spot were a bit surprised as there were no signs of involvement of force, it is said.

The town police have begun investigation. They are not yet sure whether this was a case of abduction or whether the girl had left on her own accord.
