Kundapur, Feb 22: A Felicitation programme to the 'Gana kogile Naada Namana' Dr S Janaki was organized by Pratham Inn & Resorts and Koteshwara Uva Meredian at UVA Meredian opera park, Koteshwara on Saturday, February 21.
South Indian Nightingale Dr S Janaki inaugurated the programme. B Appanna Hegde, Dhamadarshi of Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple, Basrur, Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty, N T Poojary businessman Mumbai, Hattiangadi sri siddhivinayak Temple Dhamadarshi H Ramachandra Bhat, Uday Kumar Shetty, Vinay Kumar Shetty of UVA Meredian and Udupi Additional SP Santhosh Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
The programme organizers Dr Sathish Poojary, Subramanya Shetty, Dr Prakash Tolar, Yakub Kader Gulavadi, Narayan Ithal, Abdul Salam Saheb and Uday Shetty were present.
After the inaugural function under the leadership of Dr Sathish Poojary, 24 songs, sung by Dr S Janaki were presented by the prominent singers of the coastal region.
Well known singer sangeetha Balachandra kick started the Rasamanjari by the song 'Samagana Kovide', followed by young singer Shravya Kumbasi who sang 'Poojisalende Hoogala Thande', Githe Theli banthu, Sangeetha Balachandra-Rameshchandra (duet) Enda Mareyada and Dr Sathish Poojary and Saumaya Kateel also sang Elleli Na Nodali to enthral the audience.
South Indian Nightingale Dr S Janaki was felicitated in a grand manner in front of huge audience by the felicitation committee along with the guests of the programme.
