Mangalore, Jan 25: For sometime now, Naxalites are not in news.  There is a complete silence.  Eversince Naxal Dinakar was shot dead in an encounter by ANF in the month of December, Naxalites seems have gone into the shell.  There is also no news of them visiting villages in the Malnad regions which are said to be Naxal-hit areas.

But this very silence is very disturbing now.  Some sources say that this is like lull before storm.  The intelligence bureau sleuths said to have already informed the state police about a possible attempt by Naxals to kidnap some top police officers.  The plan has been drawn in order to show their strength and also to gather some popularity from public.

Eversince Dinakar was shot dead by police, even the locals have stopped showing any sympathy toward Naxalites.  There is a wide complaint that Naxalites are luring the young men and women in order to meet some of their own purposes.  It has been very evident too that some of the local youth those who joined with them have already laid down their lives in encounters.

So in order to gain their lost popularity, the Naxalites are planning to abduct some top police officials.  This would also be projected as the failure of police department and there are chances that people may turn hostile towards police.
