Udupi: Janardhan Thonse takes charge as UUDA chairman

Udupi, Mar 4: Janardhan Thonse who was appointed as Chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA) by the government of Karnataka on Saturday, February 28, took charge as Chairman of UUDA at Town Planning Authority Udupi on Wednesday, March 4.




Janardhan Thonse speaking on the occassion said "I will make the town planning authority, a place free from corruption.All applications will be dealt with in a timely manner without any delay. Poor and landless will be given preference in all policy matters."

Pramod Madhwaraj said "All these Akrama Sakrama and land related problems have come because of the BJP government. The present government is correcting those mistakes."

Janardhan Thonse’s service for the Kallianpur locality was well known. He was the former Zilla Panchayat member of Kallianpur, president of Kallianpur Panchayat for three durations, Telephone Advisory member of former undivided D.K. district, former Mandal Panchayat member, present general secretary of Udupi district Congress committee and member of several organizations. He has been active member in congress party since four decades.

Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj, Commissioner Manjunathaiah, CMC President Yuvaraj, Vice President Amrithakrishnamurthi, ZP members and CMC members were present during occasion.
