'Alternative Education Opportunities'- panel discussion with KE Feb meet held

Bengaluru, Mar 5: A panel discussion on 'Alternative Education Opportunities' and monthly February meet was held recently in Bengaluru.

Adrian Dsouza welcomed the gathering and the meeting commenced with the KE prayer led by President Mark Dsouza ,followed by a round of self introduction by 75 members , their families and their children and guests present. The introductions further reinforced the closeness among the members and their educational needs were made known to the panelists.

Mark Dsouza in his opening remarks briefly outlined the activities of the Bangalore chapter of KE and underscored the need to make the organization vibrant and more attuned to the needs of the business community



























The panel discussion was ably moderated by George Selvam in his signature witty style and brought out the best from the panelists. Dr Ali Kwaja, a well known student counselor drew on his vast experience and regaled the audience with anecdotes about the crucial years in a students life. He cautioned the parents about over steering their children's careers and advised them to watch and observe their children carefully and consult them before deciding for them. He also enlightened the members on the plethora of alternative careers lines open to youth today.

Dr Jyothi Kumar, brought out the passion for teaching that has been burning in her ever since she was a student. She emphasized to the audience that a wrong career choice would lead to many wasted years of study that could not be undone.

Monisha Bannerjee enlightened the members on the study abroad options and various courses open to students. She highlighted the pros and cons as well as the costs of overseas education and the various country specific advantages available to prospective students.

The session was followed by a spirited question and answer session that elicited further responses from both the panelists and the members and had to be moderated for want of time.

Dr Joe Rasquinha proposed the vote of thanks .

The members and the panelists interacted closely over fellowship and a hearty buffet dinner.
