Toyota India vice chairman heads CII Karnataka council


Bengaluru, March 6 (IANS): Toyota Kirloskar Motor Ltd. vice chairman Satish Vishwanathan was on Thursday elected chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) Karnataka state council for the new fiscal 2015-16.

Bharat Fritz Werner (BFW) chief executive Ravi Raghavan will be the vice chairman of the industry's representative body in the state.

Election to the top two state council posts was held at the council's annual general meeting here.

Vishwanathan joined the Toyota Kirloskar group in 1998 after three years in Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. and worked in various capacities before assuming the present executive post in January 2013.

Vishwanathan is also a director of Kirloskar Systems Ltd. since 2006 and of ASM Technologies Ltd. since 2011.

Prior to joining BFW, Raghavan was managing director of the HVAC multinational Tecumshe for the India region and was earlier associated with Kelvinator of India, Crompton Greaves and Alstom India.
