Vijayapura: Two die after consuming chicken soup in which lizard had fallen

Vijayapura, Mar 8: In an incident which occurred at Tadavalaga village in Indi taluk of the district on Saturday March 7, two persons died after consuming chicken soup into which a lizard had fallen.

Chicken soup had been prepared for dinner on Friday by the family of Iqbal Walikar (58) from the village. The remaining soup was used by the family on Saturday morning, although a lizard had fallen into the vessel overnight.

Within a short while, the family members started suffering from acute stomach pain. They were shifted to the government hospital here. However, Iqbal Walikar and Sufiya Walikar (2) died at the hospital. It is gathered that the condition of two other family members is serious.
