Mangalore, Feb 13: In a fatal accident that took place at Kapikad near Bejai here, a housewife was killed on the spot while her husband sustained injuries on Tuesday February 13 morning.
The deceased has been identified as Meena Rao, wife of Bhagwan Rao. Both of them were coming to the city riding the mobike when a private bus, JMJ Travels plying between the city and Kateel knocked them down.
Bhagwan was riding the mobike while his wife Meena was riding the pillion. The bus hit the bike while trying to overtake another bus. As a result the couple fell on the ground. While Bhagwan fell on the left side, Meena fell on the right. Before she could recover and get up, bus moved over her head resulting in her death.
Bhagwan sustained minor injuries and was treated immediately. The Kadri police have registered a case in this regard.
