Three-day Bible convention begins at Brahmavar

Udupi, Mar 26: 'Brahmavar Bible Convention 2015' a three day programe was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop, Diocese of Udupi on Wednesday March 25 at Brahmavar.



















From the inaugural speech Bishop of Udupi said prayer is very important especially during the lent season. This is the time for reflection. And go back to the God if we went away from him

Same time he called upon to live the true experience of Lenten season by repentance, fasting and charity.

Fr Dr Reji Mathews Proffessor from old seminary, Kottayam is the main preacher for the three day long Bible convention, which will be from March 25 to March 27, every day in the evening from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Convention is organized by St. Mary’s Syrian Orthodox Church, Brahmavar. Fr. Lawrence D’Souza gave the invocation at the beginning. Fr. C. A. Isaac, Vicar General of the cathedral welcomed the gathering.

Fr V C Jose, Fr Lawrence D'Souza, Fr David Crasta, Fr Abraham Kuriakose, Fr Noel Lewis, Trustee Anil Rodrigues and Secretary Wilson Lewis, were present. More than 800 faithful participated on the first day of the function.

After Udupi was officially announced as the diocese this is the first time a Catholic bishop participating Syrian Orthodox community programme. By this move two steps have been taken to come over the differences between the two communities which will help and benefit in strengthening relations between both the communities.
