Udupi, Mar 28: Zee TV reality singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs winner Gagan Gaonkar was felicitated by the people of Udupi at Town Hall, Ajjarkad here on Friday March 27.
Udupi MLA Promod Madhwaraj honoured him with a shawl, garland, fruits and a shield at this auspicious occasion.
Addressing the gathering Madhwaraj said, "Gagan is the honoured son of Udupi district. He represents Udupi on a national level. This is history and for the first time a boy from Udupi holds a prestigious crown in the reality show."
In his message he urged the audience to cross the sky limit and be hungry for more achievements in life.
He said, "Gagan has seen honour as a child and he is an extremely unique personality." Madhwaraj wished him success in his future.
A grand bike rally took off from Jodu Katte-Ajjarkad-Brahmagiri-Karavali Bypass- Santhekatte-Ambagilu- Kalsanka- city bus stand-service bus stand and culminated at Town Hall.
The esteemed Udupi Dance Group Academy performed cultural programmes.
Gagan's parents Gopal Krishna Gaonkar and Girija were proud of their honoured son.
