Udupi-Padubidri, Feb 24: Sesu Bhandary (66), who had served as panchayat member for long 32 years, died at his residence at Palimar on February 23, after a bried illness.
He had also served in the Udupi land tribunal for about 10 years, besides as president of milk producers' union and member of school betterment committees of Palimar's PU college and primary schools.
When land reforms were introduced in the state he had fought for the farmers' cause.
He is survived by wife and two daughters.
