Mangalore, Mar 7: The newly-constructed spacious building of Srinivas Institute of Technology at Valachil near Farangipet here was inaugurated on Wednesday March 7 evening.

The new campus comprises of college building, centre of professional skill development and training, computer centre and internet facility and campus automation and EDUSAT programme.

The college building was inaugurated by D H Shankaramurthy, state minister for higher education.  The programme after Indiramma, wife of the late A Shama Rao, founder of Srinivas Institutes lit the traditional lamp.

State medical education and animal husbandry minister Dr V S Acharya inaugurated the centre for professional skill development and training while district-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty inaugurated the computer centre and internet facility.

Dr Balaveera Reddy, vice-chancellor of VTU Belgaum was present on the occasion and he inaugurated the campus automation and EDUSAT programme.

The programme was presided over by A Raghavendra Rao, president of A Shama Rao Foundation.

Vice-president A Srinivas Rao, secretary D Shashikala R Rao, principal Dr B N Shathapriya were also present on the occasion.
