Udupi, Mar 9: A four-day exhibition on photographs of stone and copper plats inscriptions was inaugurated at the Nutana Ravindra Mantapa at the MGM college premises here on Thursday March 8.
The exhibition, organized by the Epigraphy branch of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Mysore, in association with MGM College, was inaugurated by Drishya School of Arts director Ramesh Rao.
The inscriptions relating to Indian heritage found in Cambodia, Java, Sumatra, Borneo and other places are a special attraction. The exhibition aims at creating awareness about the cultural heritage of India.
Among those present were Academy of General Education administrative officer H Shantharam, Academy registrar K K Pai, historian P N Narasimhamurthy, ASI deputy superintending epigraphist T S Ravishankar, Govinda Pai Research Centre director Heranje Krishna Bhat and MGM College principal Jayaprakash Mavinakuli.
