Mangaluru, Apr 21: A release from the office of Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner has stated that the meeting of Regional Transport Authority (RTA), which was scheduled to be held on April 22, has been postponed due to certain reasons.

At the RTA meeting held on March 30, it had been decided to issue permits relating to 35 new routes to KSRTC buses under National Urban Renewal Mission. As KSRTC had sought only five new routes, petitions had been sought from the general public towards the facility they need, to make the scheme more people-friendly.

There was good response from the people, and the KSRTC office received 1,158 petitions, while transport office got 415 new petitions. As it takes time to scrutinize these 1,573 applications, RTA meeting had to be postponed, a release explained.
