Bhatkal: BIFA to host state level football tourney from April 23

Bhatkal, Apr 22: Bhatkal Inter Football Association (BIFA) will host a four-day state-level football tournament at Taluka Stadium from April 23.

Around 20-15 football teams from the state will take part in the tournament. This is the first time in the history of Uttar Kannada that a state level football tournament has been organized.

Speaking to media, tournament convener, Maviya Mohtesham said, “Tournament will bring out lot of good football players. Our aim of the tournament is to make this game more popular. As many as 300 sportspersons from various districts will be taking part in the tournament. The BIFA administration will provide boarding and lodging expenses of the participants. Hifzur Rahman Barmawar, MD Square Real Estate and Developers Mangaluru will inaugurate the tournament”.

CPI Prashanth Naik, former TMC president, Inayatullah Shabandri, ACF Nandeesh, general secretary Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation Moulana Irfan SM, Irshad Makkubhai physical director Nehru College, Hubli will take part in the inaugural programme on April 23 at 4 pm.

Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya, assistant commissioner Chidanand Watare, Bhatkal Muslim Youth federation president Imtiyaz Udaywar, Tehshildar VN Badkar, Gayathri assistant director DYES and many others will take part in the valedictory function.

Ganim Mohtisham, Mashallah Shanu, Istiyaque Hassan Ruknuddin, Ismail Muneeb Musba, Zeeshan Armar were present.
