Wellington, April 23 (IANS): A second New Zealand healthcare worker who recently returned from West Africa is being tested for the Ebola virus, Health Minister Jonathan Coleman said on Thursday.
Coleman said the nurse was being kept in a special isolation facility at the Wellington Hospital, Radio New Zealand reported.
He said she was a part of a seven-member team that was the government's contribution to an Australia-run centre in Sierra Leone in West Africa.
Coleman said the woman left Sierra Leone on April 15 and returned home on April 18.
Test results, being analysed in Melbourne, were expected to rule out Ebola in the next day or two.
In March, a healthcare worker was cleared of Ebola after returning from Sierra Leone.
