Beltangady youth Safwan goes missing, again

Bantwal, Apr 24: Beltangady taluk Puthila village Karpady resident Safwan who had gone missing from Mumbai and was traced there after 14 days, is reported missing again. A missing person's complaint has been registered at Punjalkatte police station.

Aboobakar and his son Safwan (24) were employed in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. Aboobakar was reportedly murdered in Saudi Arabia six months ago. Safwan was mentally disturbed by the incident. Safwan had come back from Saudi Arabia about two months ago and had gone missing after landing in Mumbai. He was found in Mumbai after 14 days.

His relative, Valachil resident K V Ilyas had accompanied him to his hometown. Safwan was staying with his mother at Karpady. At around 9.30 am on April 9, Safwan went out telling his mother Zohra that he was going to Barya panchayat to apply for Aadhar card, but did not return home.

Safwan could not be found even after an extensive search. His relative Ilyas in a complaint dated April 18, has requested the Punjalkatte police to find him.

The missing Safwan is five feet five inches tall, has a medium built and a fair complexion. He can speak Kannada, Hindi, English, Arabic and Malayalam. He was wearing white shirt and black trousers at the time of going missing.

    Why the family members are not taking proper care of him. He seems to be suffering from depression after his fathers death. Once found again he should not be allowed to venture outside of his house

    I assume this youth has become mentally unstable because of the events in his family especially his father's death. He should be given proper treatment and counseling and should not be left alone until he comes of the trauma.
