Mangaluru, Sep 29: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister U T Khader directed the concerned departments to appoint nodal officers for the speedy implementation of the decisions taken at the state Cabinet meeting held in Mangaluru on September 18.

He was speaking at a meeting with officials at the Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner’s office on Monday September 28.

The concerned departments should maintain continuous coordination with the Secretariat to ensure that the decisions of the Cabinet meeting are issued as government orders. Information in this regard should be provided promptly. As soon as the government orders are issued, action should be taken to prepare action plans and initiate the tender process. Officials should have clear information about the projects. Chief minister D K Shivakumar will visit the district shortly to review the implementation, minister U T Khader said.

Development of the Kudru islands will be undertaken under the PPP model. The tender process should be initiated for implementation of the project. Steps should also be taken to obtain CRZ clearance and complete the tender process.

The minister directed the Public Works Department to prepare DPRs for infrastructure projects, including the Airport Road–Maravoor new bridge and a state-of-the-art fish market at Ekkur.

He also directed officials to expedite the compound wall work of the jail being constructed at Balepuni. The stadium at Mangala Stadium should be developed with modern facilities. For this purpose, experienced agencies that have undertaken stadium development works should be contacted.

He further directed officials to coordinate the construction of the new Ullal-Kotekar bridge and the new jetty.

Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Darshan H V, zilla panchayat CEO Narvade Vinayak Karbhari, police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy, Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner Rahul Rathan Pandey and others were present at the meeting.
