Mangaluru, Apr 27: Senior Congress leader and former union minister, B Janardhana Poojary, has expressed resentment at the city corporators, who are seeking transfer of the current city corporation commissioner, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati. A delegation of corporators including city mayor, had complained to the chief minister during the latter's recent visit to the city, about the functioning style of the commissioner, and sought her transfer, although she had taken over charge here in the recent past.

Speaking at a private programme held on Sunday April 26 at Mulky near here, Poojary condemned the behaviour of these corporators. He also warned them of the consequences they may have to face for complaining against an efficient IAS officer.

'The chief minister has provided to us an able, efficient administrator who belongs to a backward community. Those who obstruct her from discharging duties run the risk of being sent to jail. I thank minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, for convincing the chief minister that the city corporators had complained about the officer because of their wrong notions, and avoiding the issue from becoming controversial by telling him that the matter would be amicably settled. Sorake has saved these corporators from going to jail,' he felt.
