Harassed woman files police complaint against husband

Bantwal, Apr 27: A woman has filed police complaint in the town police station here, alleging that her husband has been torturing her both mentally and physically on a regular basis.

The complainant, Razia (31) from Parlia in Kaikamba, B Moda village, who says she has been assaulted by her husband, stands admitted into a private hospital at Thumbe. On the basis of her complaint, the policemen of the rural station here have registered case against her husband, Rashid alias Acheed from B Mooda village.

Razia says that her husband has been pressurizing her to part with the money she had earned when working in Saudi Arabia. As she is not agreeable to meet this demand, she often faces both mental and physical torture from her husband, she has said. The couple had married in 2012, and Razia says she had given over a lac of rupees to her husband for different reasons. 'My husband repeatedly left home in the guise of going to places like Madikeri, Mysuru and Bengaluru and failed to come home. When I made inquiries, I came to know that he had already married Afsa, daughter of Ahmed from Addoor village,' she has explained.

Razia also wants the police to investigate her husband for marrying second time by cheating her, with an eye on her money.
