College student involved with preparations for function electrocuted

Puttur, Apr 29: Abdul Nasir (19), a second year degree student of KGN College Mani near here was electrocuted when he was involved with making preparations for the upcoming function of a religious educational institution at Kabaka in the taluk. This tragic incident occurred on the night of Monday April 27. Two others suffered injuries in the incident.

Nasir was a resident of Mandekolu village. When he was working along with some other students on creation of an arch for the function, accidentally a metal pipe he was holding came in contact with high power electric cables passing above. Nasir lost his life instantly.

His fellow-students, Muhammadali, and Asif, who were working with him towards making preparations for the programme, suffered injuries from shock and were admitted into the hospital here for treatment.
