Mangalore, Mar 24: The Panambur police have arrested four persons in two separate incidents of cattle running here and have seized 28 cattle from them on Friday March 23.  The police intercepted two vehicles plying on the highway after receiving a sure tip-off and arrested four persons for illegal transport of cattle.

While 11 cattle were transported in one vehicle, 17 were transported in the other one.  The cattle were being transported to Kudroli slaughter house and to Thokkottu.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Habib (25), a resident of Krishnapur near Suratkal, Hameed (23) of Padubidri, Pramod (21) and Farook (21) from Jokatte.

The Panambur police had received tip-off that cattle were being illegally-transported from Jokatte and Suraktkal-Krishnapur.  Accordingly the police led by sub-inspector Pramod Kumar were checking vehicles on the National Highway 17.
