Mangalore, Marc 24: Agitators led by U S Mallya Indoor Stadium Action Committee staged 'Save Mangala Stadium' protest in front of deputy commissioner's office here on Friday March 23 evening.
Local sportsmen, sports lovers and kids formed the group of protestors who have been opposing the decision of Sports Authority of India (SAI) to start training at Mangala Stadium.
It was a silent protest rally which brought out the problems faced by up and coming sports person of the district. They protested through placards, banners which declared their opposition against SAI's decision.
Speaking on the occasion Action Committee Naveen said that though they welcome the decisions by SAI, they would not want to use Mangala stadium for these kind of purposes unless there is some alternative is arranged.
