Kundapur, Mar 24: The annual day celebration and prize distribution ceremony of Dr K Shivaram Karanth’s Research Centre of Bhandarkar’s College was held here on Friday March 23.

Presiding over the function chairman of the centre Dr H Shantharam said that a comprehensive view is the foundation for any kind of research and that it needs to be developed by continuous efforts.  “There is no need for disappoint for a beginner if he faltered in the initial stages of research for it was but natural for an infant to stumble and fall,” he added.


 
The function was inaugurated by Prof Domachandra Shekhar, principal of the college.  He also released a book of hand-written essays by the members of the centre on their educational tour to Basrur.

Well-known writer and journalist Sharada Bhat, college lecturer H Soumya, Kedur Rathnakara Shetty, a progressive farmer were also present at the inaugural function.

Dr T R Manjunath, the director of the centre presented the annual report while Rekha V Bannadi introduced the guests.  Ambika and troupe sand the prayer hymn while lecturer Prafulla read the list of prize winners.  Shailaja compered the programme.
