Mangaluru, May 8: Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC), A B Ibrahim, informed that 11,696 candidates from the district will be appearing for the common entrance test (CET) being held on May 12 and 13 for admission into engineering and medical courses.

Addressing a meeting held at the office of the deputy commissioner here on Thursday May 7 as prelude to the upcoming test, deputy director of PU Education Board, K R Thimmappa, said that CET will be conducted in 11 centres in the city, three in Puttur, six in Moodbidri, and two in Ujire. The DC suggested the officials to allocate vehicles and staff properly to ensure that all basic facilities are made available in examination centres, supplying of question papers in time to centres, and to promptly dispatch answer sheets to the offices concerned after the conclusion of the examination.

5,344 students will take up the examination in the centres located in the city, 3,712 will appear at the centres located in Moodbidri, 1,856 students will write the examination in Puttur, while 784 have opted for Ujire centre.

Additional deputy commissioner, Sadashiva Prabhu, assistant commissioner, Dr Ashok, Basavaraj, and many others were present.
