Kundapur, May 9: After a shop named Sundara gas stove mechanic in the heart of Koteshwar on main road near here caught fire accidentally on Friday May 8 evening, the goods inside the shop turned into ashes. Owner of the shop, Seetharam Shet, who suffered serious burn injuries, was admitted into a hospital.
This fire accident caused loss totalling to lacs of rupees as household articles, things and spare parts related with gas stoves, fancy items etc were burnt down.
Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot immediately and succeeded in extinguishing the fire before it spread to nearby buildings and inflicted more losses. If the fire had spread, there was the risk of various shops and houses nearby getting burnt down.
