Mangalore, Mar 27: Third national-level Shree Shankara dance and music festival would be organized at Kalady in Kerala on April 21.
This was announced by Prof P V Peethambaran in a press conference held here on Monday March 27.
The festival will have a large audience of connoisseurs of classical arts in Kerala. The objective of the programme is to promote the unity and integrity of the country through age-old classical art forms and also to pay tribute to Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya.
The programme will be held at Shankara Natyamantapam which on the bank of river Periyar, which would be a platform for 500 world famous and accredited professional senior and junior artistes from across the country. Renowned artist Dr Vasundra Doraiswamy from Mysore, Dr Neena Prasad from Thiruvanathapuram, Sridhar and Anuradha Sridhar from Bangalore, O S Thyagarajan from Chennai and others will perform on this occasion.
He also said tha mega dance programme based on the life and teaching of Jagadguru Sree Narayana Guru, who preached ‘One caste, one religion and one God for mankind’, would be presented on the opening day of the festival.
