Mangalore Mar 30: ‘Kasaragod Kannada Jagruti Sammelana’ will be hosted by Kannada Development Authority (KDA) at the premises of Sri Vishnumurthy Temple at Chipparu on March 31. 

S PradeepKumar Kalkura, member of KDA said this is to support the Kannadigas in the border district and to create the Kannada awareness, said at the press meeting on Wednesday March 28.

Jayalakshmi Bhat K, Paivalike gram panchayat president will inaugurate the conference.

Dr Sunder Kenaje and Dr Subrahmanya K will present papers on ‘Rights of border Kannadigas and awareness about their faculties and ‘Culture invasion and impediments’ respectively.

Kalkura in another separate press meet said that KDA, district administration and Kannada and Culture Department in collaboration with the Tulu and Konkani Sahitya Academies have organized Gadi Samskrutika Utsava at Kadri Park in Mangalore on March 31.

Kalkura aharotsava (food festival) and Gadi Utsava will be inaugurated by district-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty, earlier to this there will be a cultural jatha from Karavali Utsav Ground which will be flagged-off by mayor Vijaya Arun.
