Bengaluru: TN Techie mows down two waiting for bus

Bengaluru , May 17: A techie from Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, speeding into Bengaluru to participate in the TCS 10K Marathon killed two women and injured six others at a bus shelter near Hebbagodi police station on Saturday, May 16.

Karthik K Rajagopal (28) hit his Honda City car into the bus bay where around 15 persons were waiting for bus.

Radha Ramachandran ( 59) and her daughter-in-law Sowmya R Swaroop (29) were killed while her granddaughter Sanvi R Swaroop aged 4 suffered a fractured leg.

Radha was a homemaker while Sowmya, a software engineer, worked with Tech Mahindra in electronics city. Five others sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Hebbagodi police arrested Karthik, a software engineer with eBay.com at Krishnagiri. Police subjected him to a medical test and are waiting for the report to check whether he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
