Kundapur: Boat damaged as it hits sand on shore

Kundapur, May 18: A boat has been severely damaged after it hi sand on the shore at Belikeri Gangolli.

The boat was on its way from Malpe to Gangolli Bunder. When it neared its destination, it got trapped at Gangolli in the sands. People tried to bring it to the shore but failed.

The boat which remained in water hit the shore because of violent tides at night.

The losses were estimated at Rs 30 lacs because of the accident.

Three persons who were in the boat are out of danger.
