Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady / Nellyadi (VM)

Beltangady, Apr 4: A leopard which was identified in a farm near Shibaje here was captured by the Forest Department personnel on Tuesday. However the wild visitor died on the way to Mangalore.

The leopard was found in the farm of Pandentaje Raghu who informed the Forest Department. The department personnel along with veterinary doctor of Pilikula Nisargadhama Mangalore rushed to the spot and captured the animal.

The veterinary doctor Dr Ningappa was injured by the leopard when he was administering the tranquilizer. He was then rushed to the nearby primary health centre.

The leopard was drugged using a tranquilizer gun and was then taken to Pilikula Nisargadhama. However it died on the way.
