Mangalore, Apr 4: Gaana-Nritya Vidyapeetha trust will be celebrating its annual day function at Town Hall on April 8.
Gayanostav and Nritystava programme will be presented by the students on that day at 4 pm. A ballet called ‘Navarasa Ramayana’ and a contemporary dance play ‘Rutu Shringara’ will be at 7:45pm.
Sudhakar Rao Pejavar, president of the organization, announced in a press conference here on Wednesday.
Gana-nritya Vidyapeetha is an academy for Indian music and dance. It has training centres functioning in Sullia for 12 years and in Puttur and Mangalore over the past 3 years. It has the credit of having organized many programmes and has promoted many talents.
Director Vidyashree Radhakrishna was the student of Murulidhar Rao Shanthala, an award winner in dance and Shrinath Marathe award winner in music.
She has been honoured as ‘Karnataka Jyoti’ under the auspices of Karnataka Sangeet Academy.
