Karkala, Apr 7: An unidentified body was found at Perpalegudda near Attur here a couple of days ago.  The police have failed to gain any clue about the person so far and they are yet to establish the cause of the death though it is widely speculated to be a murder.

Since no complaints of anyone missing from Attur, Nitte or Doopadakatte areas have been filed in the local police station in the past few days, police are of the opinion that the deceased person might not have been a local.  So the general perception is that he might have been brought and murdered at Perpalegudda by culprits.

As of now it is thought to be a murder.  The body was found in a nude state and there are no traces of his clothes in the close vicinity.  There were some wounds on his neck and groin area which indicate that he might have been assaulted before the murder.  Some food items and eatables were found near his body which suggests the involvement of one or more persons in the murder.

The body was kept in the mortuary for a day.  Since no one claimed the body, it was later buried.  It was found in total decomposed state making it quite difficult even to determine the approximate age of the deceased.
