Karnataka Media Academy Awards for Raj Chengappa, Ishwar Daitota, Sandhya Pai

Bangalore, Apr 8: Fourteen journalists from the state, including Samyukta Karnataka daily's editorial consultant Ishwar Daitota and Taranga weekly's executive editor Sandhya S Pai have been nominated for the annual Karnataka Madhyama Academy awards for 2006.

Raj Chengappa, originally hailing from Kodagu and serving as deputy editor of India Today in Delhi for several years, has been nominated for the special award given to journalists from state who have made achievements at the national level.

Academy president V N Subba Rao made this announcement to mediapersons on Saturday here. He added that the awards will be presented at a function to be held in the Ravindra Kala Kshetra here on April 16.

Also among the 14 is sports sub editor M A Ponnappa of Prajavani.
