Iggy Azalea cancels tour

Los Angeles, May 30 (IANS): Singer Iggy Azalea has reportedly cancelled her upcoming North American Great Escape Tour after postponing it in March.

The 24-year-old pop star was set to begin the series of 21 concerts in San Diego on September 19, but has now cancelled the performances, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

AXS ticketing company announced the news to ticket-holders on Friday via an email that reads: "The Iggy Azalea 'Great Escape Tour' scheduled for this fall has been cancelled and refunds are available at point of purchase. There will be a new tour planned around Iggy's new record to be released in 2016 and we apologise for any inconvenience."

The "Pretty girls" hitmaker first announced she was postponing the tour in March "due to tour production delays", but insisted it would take place later this year.

A spokesperson said at the time: "To accommodate for creative team availability and tour production plans, it was determined that the tour will not be ready this spring. It is extremely important to Iggy that she delivers the show she envisaged to share with her fans and that requires more time in development."

Azalea is yet to comment on the cancellation.
