Mumbai, Apr 14: In the line of fire after their controversial comments to the media regarding former Indian coach Greg Chappell, players Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh have formally apologised to the BCCI.
The two had been slapped with a show cause notice after they reacted to Chappell's allegations that senior players' attitude was responsible for India's debacle in the World Cup.
"It was done in the heat of moment and I wouldn't do it again," Tendulkar has written to Pawar.
It is learnt that Yuvraj has replied that he wanted to support a senior player and "show to everyone that there is unity within the team".
Interestingly, both the cricketers sought advice before preparing their brief reply to the Board.
Tendulkar spoke to Pawar himself who advised him to prepare a short "two-line reply" to the show cause notice.
Yuvraj, interestingly, consulted chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar before preparing his reply.
