Kundapur, Apr 17: Finally the people of the taluk especially the farmers have something to cheer.  The Bantwadi vented dam built at a total cost of Rs 14 crore across the Souparnika river will be inaugurated on Wednesday April 18.  Along with that another dam built across Chakra river near Katbeltur too will be inaugurated on the same day.

This was announced in a press conference by Byndoor MLA Gopal Poojary in a press conference here on Monday April 15.

The programme will be inaugurated by deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa.  Union minister Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the Katbeltur dam while district-in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya will inaugurate the Senapur dam.  MP Manorama Madhwaraj, MLA K Pratapchandra Shetty, ZP president B N Shankar Poojary, state Apex bank president M N Rajendra will be the special invitees.

Byndoor block Congress president Vasudev Yadiyal, ZP member Sadhu S Billava and others were present at the press conference.
