Mangalore, Apr 17: An advanced pediatric care building is getting ready at Wenlock Hospital premises with the aid of Rs 5.6 crore by Infosys, said Nagaraj Shetty, district in-charge minister.
He was speaking at the press conference at Wenlock Hospital on Monday April 16.
The building work will complete within 15 days. State government had already released Rs 3 crore for this building. But another Rs 2 crore needed for interiors and medical equipments. After installing all the necessary equipments, it will start working on next September, he assured.
“The shortage of staff nurses and medical staff in the hospital must be brought to the notice of the state government. I am confident of getting the required fund from the state” he said.
A total of Rs 80 lac is needed for drugs for a year and Rs 1.36 crore needed for maintenance of the hospital. This could be one of the best pediatric departments in the state, he opined.
MLA Yogish Bhat, DC Maheshwara Rao were present at the press conference.
