blueFROG set to open doors in Bengaluru

New Delhi, June 18 (IANS): After enthralling music aficionados with electrifying gigs in Delhi, Music and Pune, state-of-the-art live music venue blueFROG is set to open its doors in India's rock capital Bengaluru.

Set to launch on Friday, blueFROG Bengaluru will bring in an enticing mix of live and electronic acts to the city, read a statement.

On the occasion of the launch, BlueFROG's executive vice-chairman and managing director Sumer Vaswani said that the brand is "excited to enter the Bengaluru market".

"As a brand, blueFROG is an iconic one, known for its high service standards, quality food and beverage, as well as cutting-edge music programming. We are excited to enter the Bengaluru market, which we recognise as being one of the most musically discerning in the country, and we hope we can live up to (and hopefully surpass) all expectations," he added.

blueFROG Bengaluru's partners Byram Holdings added that the former's "commitment towards revolutionising live music in India" can help them to "steadily win over the city and its patrons".

With floor-to-ceiling glass walls, acoustically treated timber panelling, attached al fresco section and cutting edge sound-controlled lighting, the two-storey venue combines the old world "balcony style" theatre with modern designs.

To make the inauguration memorable for the city's music lovers, blueFROG Bengaluru will feature Britain-based seminal electronic music act Dub Pistols. The band has gained stronghold in India over the past few years with live performances at Sulafest, 2014 and at blueFROG Mumbai, and are now returning to the country to deliver yet another riveting performance for their fans.

The venue has planned more gigs for its opening weekend in Bengaluru. On Saturday, some of the best DJs of the city will play dance music, with blueFROG's resident DJ Axo hosting the launch party.

On Sunday, Rajasthani folk music collective The Kutle Khan project will regale audiences with their unique mix of sufi and Indian folk music.

blueFROG will bring in local artists as well as those from across India and around the world, featuring varying styles and genres, with the goal of catering to the wide-ranging tastes of consumers of music in Bengaluru.
