NEW DELHI, Apr 29: National carrier, Indian has broken all records in the Indian aviation history by carrying the highest number of over 34,000 passengers on a single day for the first time.

The airline carried as many as 34,535 passengers on Friday, the highest ever by an Indian carrier as per official records on passenger load factor.

During the past few months, the state-owned carrier has consistently been registering a high growth in passenger load factor, crossing the 32,000 mark on 15 occasions this year, a spokesman said.

It broke the 33,000 mark on three occasions this year and crossed the 34,000 mark on Friday.

The state-owned airline had carried the highest of 30,045 in November 2004, 28,860 in December 2005 and 31,168 in December last year.

The airline had been awarded the Readers' Digest Platinum Award for being the 'most trusted airline' earlier this year.
