South Korea MERS cases rise to 180


Seoul, June 25 (IANS): The number of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) cases in South Korea has risen to 180 after a fresh case was reported, authorities said on Thursday.

The health ministry also reported two new deaths, taking the toll to 29, Xinhua news agency reported.

At least seven more patients were discharged from hospitals. With this, the total number of people discharged from hospitals has increased to 74.

The number of those quarantined reduced from 3,103 on Wednesday to 2,642 on Thursday.
