Mumbai, Jun 25: Actor Dhanush, who is seen twirling his moustache, beating up ruffians as if they were flies and brushing of fire from his sleeve in the trailer of Maari seems to be emoting his iconic star father-in-law Rajnikant.

The trailer of the movie starring Kajal Agarwal opposite a loveable ruffian Dhanush has been released and the talk of the town are the dime-a-dozen antics performed by Dhanush. All of these, including the quirky hand movement that Dhanush executes in some of his dialogues in the film, have hitherto been synonymous with the character and style of Rajnikant.

Dhanush's recently released movies VIP and Anegan made a huge splash at the box office with their astounding reception. His movie Shamitabh with Amitabh has also heaped praise upon him for his acting talent. Dhanush's Maari is touted as the actor's attempt at achieving a hat-trick of hits. Kajal Agarwal's look in the movie trailer is reminiscent of the one she had donned for Singham opposite Ajay Devgn. The music of Maari is by Anirudh Ravichander.

The trailer which is a peek into what the movie will hold, seems to clearly show that the movie is being entirely shouldered by Dhanush and therefore its eventual outcome - be it a hit or a flop will also be attributed to Dhanush. Rajnikant's style has rarely failed to hit the mark, and it remains to be seen if his son-in-law manages to pull of emoting him and more so in front of Rajnikant's own fans and audiences.
