Mangalore, May 6: Metropolis Health Services will take up the responsibility of Lab Management of A J Hospital.

Addressing the presspersons here on Saturday hospital director Dr Prashanth Marla said that A J Hospital lab would become a full-service clinical laboratory offering special services in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, hematology and histopathology with fully-automated equipment, trained technicians and doctors.

Metropolis managing director Dr G S K Velu said the lab would offer customized wellness and preventive health packages to corporate and the general public. Rs 100 lac have been set apart for the development of lab for the next year.

Metropolis executive director Ameera  Shah said they would be able to provide the results faster than before, with the help of fully-automated technology and better software. She also said that the result can be obtained through fax, e-mail or through web page, but the cost will remain the same.

A J Hospital is the 2nd hospital in Karnataka that has tied up with Metropolis for lab management, the other being M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital in Bangalore.

In 1981 Metropolis was founded and it is the only health service Institution in Asia that has been certified by the American pathologists. It has units in the UAE, Thailand, Sri Lanka, South Africa and the Seychelles.
