Chris Brown files paternity documents for daughter's custody

Los Angeles, July 2 (IANS): Singer Chris Brown has filed legal documents in Houston to establish paternity of his daughter Royalty.

The 26-year-old took the action to fight a case with Royalty's mother Nia Guzman over their child's support and custody, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Brown claims Guzman prevented him from seeing his daughter. He asked a judge to set clear custody guidelines for them. In addition, he wanted the judge to make financial arrangement regarding the child's support so that they will share fair amount to support Royalty. Guzman has allegedly demanded $15,000 a month for child support, higher than the $2,500 Brown has given thus far.

The “R&B” singer was also involved in a dispute with Guzman over Royalty's birth certificate. It came to light in March that Brown had a baby with Guzman. Before that, she had raised baby Royalty with her boyfriend Brazil Riesling. Brazil is listed as Royalty's father in the birth certificate. Brown demanded that the birth certificate be changed to show his status as Royalty's father.
