Mangalore May 14: Lancy D’Cunha Bondel has been elected as the president of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Diocese in the 28th General Body meeting of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Diocese held on Sunday May 13 at Bishops House here.

Andrew Noronha, president of the Catholic Sabha 2005-07 welcomed the members and presided over the meeting. L J Fernandes was the guest and he spoke on the need to strengthen the laity organization.

Nigel Pereira read annual general body report and George Ligoury D’Souza, general secretary, presented the annual report for the year 2006-07 while Martin D’Souza presented the account.  Remedia D'Souza, president of Manasa Rehabilitation Centre presented the report. Dr Gerald Pinto presented the account of Manasa. 

Spiritual director Fr Vincent Mascarenhas called upon the office bearers of the units and centre to involve all the members and recognize their talents. Lancy D'Cunha compered the programme.

The new executive committee met in the after noon and elected the following office-bearers for the year 2007-08. Peter Jerry Rodrigues was the election officer.

Secretary: Nigel Pereira Milagres   Mangalore
Treasurer: Kishore Fernandes

Editor Amcho Sandesh: Dr Gerald Pinto
Asst Editor: George Ligoury D Souza Suratkal
