Kasaragod, May 14: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad Kerala Kasargod branch protested against yesteryear actress Jayamala’s presence in Kerala. The protests against her forced her to leave Kerala. She was the reason for the Sabari Mala controversy over being allowed to enter the Sabari Mala temple – something that fertile woman are not allowed to do.

It is alleged that she bribed the priests to allow her into the temple and let her touch the feet of the statue of Lord Ayyapan in the temple’s Garbagudi. She got the temple’s Davasam Board into trouble.

She alleged that the chief priest of the Sabari Mala Temple knew about her being allowed to enter the temple premises but allowed it. To add to it, she claimed that the chief priest was a womanizer. The Kerala Police, upon investigation of the case, found out that all the things over which the controversy took place were preplanned well in advance and were masterminded by Jayamala and Unnikrishana Panicker, an astrologer from Kerala. Now the Kerala police plan to arrest both the actress and the astrologer.

The actress had arrived at Perla near Kasaragod on Sunday to inaugurate a theatre performance. After getting to know that she was in town, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists reached the location where the play was to be held. When she arrived at the place where the play was to be held, the VHP activists prevented her from inaugurating the event. They threw chappals and broomsticks at her car. She immediately left and headed back for Bangalore.
